Sierra Adventure Vehicles is a van and overland vehicle upgrade shop in Truckee, California, at 6,000 feet in the Sierra Nevada. Founded in 2020 by Mike Ricker and rebranded from Sierra Adventure Vans when the shop expanded into Jeeps, trucks, and off-road rigs alongside its van work. This is primarily an upfit and upgrade operation rather than a ground-up conversion shop. They install suspension lifts, off-road wheels and tires, skid plates, roof racks, solar systems, diesel heaters, power systems, and Starlink connectivity on existing vans — including factory Class B motorhomes like the Winnebago Revel, Storyteller, and Sportsmobile. They work on Sprinter, ProMaster, and Transit platforms. Custom interior cabinetry is fabricated in-house, and they partner with Adventure Wagon and Lost Hiway for modular interior kit installations. The shop offers a three-stage upgrade framework — Weekend Camper, Explorer, and Overlander — with downloadable price sheets for each tier. They also run community events including Saturday morning gear clinics in winter and monthly trail rides in summer.
